UKSWC operates the Pesticide Service and Farmer Extension Service Scheme within its own warehouses and storage facilities to ensure scientific preservation and protection of stored commodities.
Under this scheme, systematic pest control and fumigation operations are carried out exclusively in Corporation-managed godowns and storage centers. The services include:
1- Preventive and curative pest control treatments
2- Scientific fumigation of food grains and agricultural produce
3- Rodent and insect control measures
5- Regular inspection and monitoring of storage conditions
6- Maintenance of hygiene and sanitation standards
All treatments are conducted using approved pesticides, modern equipment, and scientifically recommended methods in compliance with safety and environmental guidelines.
Through the Farmer Extension component, the Corporation also provides guidance on safe storage practices, pest prevention techniques, and responsible pesticide usage to protect agricultural produce and minimize post-harvest losses.
This initiative ensures quality preservation, food safety, and enhanced longevity of stored commodities within the Corporation’s warehousing network.
